Tobacco Cessation for LGBTQ+ Smokers
Although tobacco is a known carcinogen, smoking rates in the LGBTQ+ community remain high especially among LGBTQ+ young adults. Dr. Donna Shelley, associate professor and vice chair for research at NYU Langone's Department of Population Health and Perlmutter Cancer Center, talks about how reducing tobacco use also reduces the potential diagnosis of many cancers. She also discusses available tobacco cessation interventions, and resources for individuals interested in reducing or quitting tobacco use. This event was held in collaboration with Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC).
