An estimated 10,000 people around the Montecito, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz areas have been given evacuation orders as more rain is expected. In footage taken on Monday, people could be seen wading through waist-deep floods. Tens of thousands of people have been left without power and 12 people died as a result of violent weather during the past 10 days. Ellen Degeneres, who lives in Montecito along with several other celebrities, posted a video calling for better treatment of nature.
