Kerrville mayor scolds reporters on floods response
The mayor of Kerrville, Joe Herring Jr., scolded reporters on Wednesday during a press conference centering around the deadly flooding and emergency response in Kerr County, Texas. The Kerrville mayor says he was not invited to emergency planning meeting.
Mayor Herring Jr. got into a back and forth with some reporters as they asked about the emergency action plan put in place by county officials. “I wasn’t in office during those discussions and frankly, I am more focused on the future than in the past,” he said.
He says he was not in office during the time those plans were discussed. “What I can say is the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, the Speaker of the Texas House have all provided us support and they have all said that this is a priority for the upcoming legislature session.”
