How to cure opioid and prescription drug addiction in a way you've never heard before! Here are some tips for curing an addiction to any drug.

Opioid addiction is just like a habit. According to Charles Duhig's book "The Power of Habit", habits are made of 3 things, a cue, a routing and a reward. Curing Opioid addiction is just like changin a habit. You have to change or avoid the cue, change the routine for a different reward. Opioid addiction is bascially a pathway inour brains, and we have to lay down new pathways (over the old one) that are so strong our brain picks the new pathway.

Many of our "cues" are environmental. For instance someone addicted to opioids could be around a lot of friends who do this as well. When they go to rehab those friends or specific environment is not the same and so they have no problem laying down new pathways. But as soon as they return to the old environment, or back to the same friends doing the same things that kept them addicted to opioids before, they relapse!

Opioid addiction is a very complex problem in the US, but I strongely believe changing the habit, and laying down new brain pathways is the first step to cure opioid addiction.
