When To See a Medical Oncologist for Advanced Thyroid Cancer.

In this new 9-minute Video, Keith C. Bible, M.D., Ph.D., of Mayo Clinic discusses advanced metastatic thyroid cancers of all types and factors determining when a patient should seek care from a medical oncologist, and what kinds of treatments to expect.

Dr. Bible also notes that most thyroid cancer patients never need to see a medical oncologist. He discusses situations with anaplastic, medullary, and differentiated (papillary and follicular) thyroid cancer and the role of different specialists in each situation. Dr. Bible is Chair of the Endocrine Malignancies Disease-Oriented Group at Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, Rochester, Minnesota, and a ThyCa Medical Advisor.
