Updates in Treating Tobacco Dependence in Mental Health Settings
Tobacco use continues to be the number one cause of preventable death in this country and as smoking rates decline, it has become more concentrated in disparity groups like those with a mental illness or substance use disorder. Addressing tobacco should be part of a comprehensive plan to address substance use in all patients. This session will review clinically useful techniques for assessment and diagnosis and well as discuss recent updates in treatments with an emphasis on pharmacology.
