The residents of Texas have experienced great loss over the past few weeks. President Biden has approved disaster assistance. This unlocks federal resources to be able to help Texans affected by the storm. The declaration covers 77 counties in Texas. FEMA is able to provide grants and loans for housing, home repairs and other programs to help communities.
Note that disaster relief can be solicited by going to DisasterAssistance.gov. Once here you can complete an application to receive assistance from FEMA. You will be required to enter information so that FEMA can confirm your eligibility and determine the amount of funds that can be released to you or your organization. Just go through the application and fill in all of the pertinent information.
Assistance is also available through the SBA. Solicit help by going to Disasterloanassistance.sba.gov. Here businesses can reserve up to $2 million, homeowners $200,000 and renters a potential $40,000 in person property. Interest rates as lows as 3% for businesses, 2% for non profits and 1.25% for individuals and homeowners. Make sure you proceed through their application in order to qualify.
