The Great Gatsby Curve: Income Immobility vs Income Inequality
Will you make more money than your parents? That would mean there is intergenerational income mobility, the ability to move up in income relative to your parents. So how has intergenerational income mobility changed over time, and how is it related to the income inequality in any given country? Ultimately we will be able to compare these with the Great Gatsby curve that compares the Gini Coefficient - one measure of income inequality - to so called rank-rank intergenerational immobility. Canada, the focus of this video, has been going up over time.
