Television Contributed to the Civil Rights Movement
Television and the civil rights movement spread throughout the United Staes at about the same time. In 1950, less than 10 percent of U.S. homes had televisions. Ten years later, when the civil rights movement was expanding, there was about 60 million televisions in American homes.
