Technology and Ethics: What Are the Issues and What Can We Do?

In this talk on ethical technology, Cayce Hill, the creator of an AI based app that helps children use tech more wisely, will examine the ethical issues around technology and show some examples of ethical technology.
If emerging technologies are employed without a strong sense of ethics, the future of the internet looks bleak. We aim to change that. Our goal is to build tools that subvert the dominant paradigm and create technologies that use artificial intelligence to obscure data and empower people. The internet can be a scary place - a place where people can feel alone, isolated and disconnected. But there's a reason for this. Artificial intelligence (AI) is fundamentally changing the way people interact with each other online. It is controlling what we see and how we see it. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. AI has the power to improve our lives and help us connect.
