"Mommy, my arms hurt..."

This was the beginning of the journey that forever changed Sammy's life. "'It's leukemia,' they said. And it was like the whole world caved in."

Sammy was diagnosed in June of 2012 with acute myeloid leukemia. He fought valiantly, and loved going to the zoo and playing video games. He underwent chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, and spent countless days and nights in the hospital.

"We planned some trips and spent as much time as we could with him, giving him what he wanted in life. And, December 14. He was 8."

Sammy passed away on December 14, 2013. His family is fighting in his honor to help all kids diagnosed with cancer by raising money for much needed cures with the St. Baldrick's Foundation: http://bit.ly/1oKfnsb
