Some bone cancer patients could be helped by an existing drug, scientists at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and their collaborators suggest. Scientists discovered that 10 per cent of people with osteosarcoma have genetic changes in their cancer cells that affect the same biological process. Drugs called IGF1R inhibitors target this process. These results hold promise for osteosarcoma patients, who have not benefited from a new, successful treatment in the past 40 years. http://www.sanger.ac.uk/news/v....iew/existing-drugs-c
