Protecting the Galapagos & Why Ocean Conservation Matters
An island is defined by the water that surrounds it. The Galapagos Islands present a rich diversity of terrestrial life, but that life on land is dependent on the health of the surrounding ocean. In this webinar, join Nat Hab Expedition Leader Jody Cardoso and Lauren Spurrier, WWF’s Vice President of Ocean Conservation, to learn about efforts to protect marine ecosystems in the Galapagos and why they are so important to health of the archipelago as a whole. Of course, conservation is as much a political effort as an ecological one, and we will also hear about the importance of sustainable fisheries and other WWF work devoted to helping the world’s interconnected oceans thrive.
