hey guys it's nixon again from zip scanners where we make scanning easy with free shipping no taxes and lifetime technical support from experts like me before we begin today I wanted to remind everyone to please watch our other videos and subscribe to our channel for more tips and tricks we have really unique things out there such as how do I adjust volume how to remove cases so make sure you're going on there and take a look at that I also want to quickly thank everyone for writing a review on their experience purchasing with us I really appreciate that they really do our best to try to exceed everyone's expectation and so any all of your positive reviews you've given us we really appreciate that and we hope you continue to keep doing that thanks again know today what I wanted to go over with everyone is scanner reception some of the issues people have with them some ways we can resolve that and some things we just really can't do occasionally so I'm going to go ahead and begin that with scanning reception some things to keep in mind are these things they work on line of sight so if there is something like a building blocking where you are big a big Valley a big hill something big tree all those things play a factor in what you can monitor and a frequency that can come in or not come in so if you've received your scanner and you've done everything I'm gonna give you some tips on what we can do about that to kind of improve so tune in so the first thing I'm hoping everyone's doing when they we see their scanner is that they're putting this there on ten on and these this is a BNC antenna you just slide it in here turn the knob it'll lock in place and you're good to go that has to be done it's going to help with reception I've had these sometimes where you know I could just turn it on and it will work but uh the ten going to help when it comes to squelch on a police scanner the best way I can describe it to new users is to think of it as an old television with these old televisions we used to have to move the antenna all the time to get the best picture of quality and so that's kind of what's happening here with squash we have to turn the knob in the sense to break up the static so that we can actually see the frequencies a little bit more clear so as you turn a knob here now you turn the knob on the TRX-1 what happens is you turn it more to the right you tend to start picking out only the stronger signals and when you leave it more towards the left it allows you to think of some of the weaker signals what I've found and what I recommend to a lot of people is to kind of leave it right at ten eleven o'clock so it can pick up most of the frequencies in your area now that doesn't always work for everyone but that's what 10:00 tends to work best but just adjust it a little bit you know for your area because your area may require a different setting maybe at nine o'clock maybe 13 so give that a go most of the time this fixes most reception problems a lot of our customers encounter and so I'm hoping this will help you and I'm sure it probably will and so now the next step would be you've done those two things tenez on justice Quadrant you're still not getting anything what we recommend is to take the scanner drive a few miles go to your friend's house maybe and let's see how it performs there let's see if you're able to start picking up things typically that will tell us if you are if you go dog just drive a few miles go somewhere else and all of a sudden scanner is working very well we're picking up things that tells us that the area in there's something blocking the reception it could be anything there's a lot of variables involved with this so what we recommend in that scenario if it does works somewhere else and not at your house or your home - getting the antenna and the antenna we recommend for this situation is called the center fire antenna and get that right here and that's our fire antenna well it's a little bit bigger what it's going to do is amplify the reception so more things you can receive more things and know some features with whatever you like about the center fire is that it is perfect size just say most
