The majority of newly-diagnosed brain cancers are aggressive. At the Penn Brain Tumor Center, we fight aggression with innovation.

For every patient, we discuss experimental options along with standard brain tumor treatment options, in order to find the best course of action for survivorship. With cutting-edge breakthroughs such as CyberKnife, Gamma Knife, and Proton Therapy, we use precision technology to target tumors without affecting the surrounding brain tissue.

TumorGlow®, developed by Penn neurosurgeons, uses an injectable dye to make cancerous tissue “glow.” This helps to ensure that the entire tumor is removed — and nothing else.

Penn Medicine is also a world leader on immunotherapy research for brain tumors. Immunotherapy is seen as a particularly promising treatment for glioblastoma, an aggressive cancer that can form in the brain or spinal cord.
