Oceans are critical to the health of our planet and our global economy. Developed nations such as Canada can play a lead role in advancing ocean sustainability while increasing the benefits derived from it. On December 2, the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy, in which Canada’s Prime Minister is a member, will release its “Transformations for a Sustainable Ocean Economy: a Vision for Protection, Production and Prosperity.”

On December 3rd, join our discussion with the Honourable Bernadette Jordan, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, and Karin Kemper, the Global Director for the Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global Practice at the World Bank as we look at Canada’s domestic blue economy. With the longest coastline in the world, Canada has great potential to grow its blue economy. We’ll look at the biggest challenges and opportunities in aligning international and domestic ambitions, and how Canada’s blue economy strategy can drive sustainable growth for the benefit of Canadians and the world.
