LGBTQ rights at the top of the Biden Administration's agenda

One of President-elect Joe Biden’s key promises after winning the United States election was to reinstate protections for LGBTQ people which had been removed under President Donald Trump.

Mr Trump’s ban on transgender individuals serving in the United States military is one of many which the Biden Administration hopes to overturn.

Mr Biden has promised to allow transgender people to serve openly in the military and increase protections for the LGBTQ community.

However, Mr Biden’s ambitions could be derailed if the Republicans win the two Georgia runoff elections and hold onto a majority in the Senate.
