Dr. Timothy Pawlik, gastrointestinal surgical oncologist at Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, discusses the latest treatment options for patients with colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. He explains that significant advances in chemotherapy and operative techniques in the last 10-20 years mean more patients are candidates for surgery. Since cancer is not routine, for patients with metastatic liver cancer, it is important that they consult with a surgical oncologist to ensure they know all their treatment options.
