Immortality and Boredom

The deprivation account holds that our death is bad for us because it deprives us of the enjoyment that we would have had if we had died later. Does this imply that we should want to maximize our enjoyment by never dying? Would immortality be desirable? Some philosophers (such as Bernard Williams and Shelly Kagan) have argued that immortality is not desirable. One reason for this is that, if the desires which give us a reason to keep living would not change, then an eternal life would produce an unimaginable boredom. Is there any activity you think you could pursue for eternity? An activity which engages your higher level intellect? Fighting for justice? Communion with God?
