To approach H&N radiotherapy planning and delivery responsibly, it is important to understand all of the underlying principles of management, including a sound knowledge of disease behaviour, complex anatomic detail, normal tissue tolerance and assessment of patient performance. In this session, process issues will be discussed in the areas of multidisciplinary assessment, protocol requirements and compliance, and ongoing monitoring of patient outcomes. Evidence for the rationale and efficacy of current approaches with IMRT and IGRT will also be presented.
