Extinction is no longer a by-product of poaching it is the very purpose of it.

There is a war against elephants, rhinos and tigers raging in the savannahs and jungles of Africa and Asia, where illegal trade in endangered animals is booming. It's being waged by speculative investors, warlords funding their political conflicts and unbridled, thoughtless consumerism. The story is about greed, brutality and the merciless battle over a limited resource. Powerful, international syndicates equipped with sophisticated military equipment have replaced local poachers.

The numbers are shocking. 30,000 elephants and 800 rhinos will die this year alone. As numbers go down the prices go up, making it a perverse futures market in extinction. At 20 Billion annually t's the most lucrative business after drugs and weapons. At this pace elephants, rhinos and tigers living in the wild will be extinct in our lifetimes. Working with Interpol and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), we'll go from the killing fields to the trading hubs. We will expose the lethal mechanisms of the global trade and find out who pulls the strings, who the customers are, what generates demand, and what is and can be done to stop the slaughter.
