Forced and coerced contraceptive sterilization violates numerous rights guaranteed under the Kenyan constitution and multiple regional and international obligations that Kenya is signatory to. It is in this regard that the new report "robbed of choice: forced and coerced sterilization experiences of Women Living With HIV in Kenya, has been launched, highlighting the experiences of these women.Speaking during the launch, Winifred Lichuma, chairperson national gender and equality commission condemned the act of forcing women into sterilization, terming it cruel and inhuman.
