In this talk, I explore the taboo past of the United States in regard to Latino men and women during the twentieth century. During this century the United States, along with Latin America, forcefully sterilized thousands of men and women. Throughout the talk, I will explain the main reasons for the forced sterilizations: discrimination against a certain race and population control. These both played large parts in the dark history of the United States, and by the end it will be clear how these two concepts are still affecting the country.
