Flooding in Kentucky leaves dozens dead, more fatalities predicted

Let's start in Kentucky where the U.S. state is in the grip of what's been called its worst flood in history. That's right,... state governor Andy Beshear said on Sunday, local time, that at least 26 people have been killed as a result of floods brought on by torrential rain in eastern Kentucky. Beshear predicted that fatalities will rise as authorities continue to find bodies.
He added that as of Saturday, 4 children were confirmed as being among the dead.
14-thousand power outages were also reported in the state,... while the National Weather Service has forecast more rain until Tuesday.
Meanwhile U.S. President Joe Biden on Friday declared a major disaster in the state, freeing up federal funds for the state.
The floods are the second disaster to hit Kentucky after a series of tornadoes killed almost 80 people there in December.
