Endangered Species - BYJU'S

Species of plants and animals which are under high risk of extinction are called endangered species. The IUCN categorized the animals and made a list called the red list which shows the level of threat to each species. The categories of species were identified as threatened species, extinct species, species extinct in the wild, critically endangered species,endangered species, and vulnerable species.

Different factors that risk the survival of animals and plants are hunting, loss of habitat, climate changes, diseases, pollution and other natural calamities. Species which have limited population strength are more likely to become endangered.
