Buffalo shooting: Ten killed in 'racially motivated' supermarket shooting

A teenage gunman allegedly inspired by white supremacist ideology killed 10 people and injured three more, most of them black, in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York on Saturday while livestreaming the attack.

Payton Gendron, 18, of Conklin, New York, was arrested on the scene and identified by police as the suspect in what represents one of the deadliest racist attacks in recent US history.

He appeared in court on later Saturday night, barefoot and in a paper smock, and pleaded not guilty to a first degree murder charge at the arraignment hearing. He is being held without bail.
