This means that new cosmetic ingredients made or sold in Australia, cannot use information from animal testing to prove their safety from this date. While animal testing was not commonplace in Australia, this ban safeguards against it in the future.

More than just makeup, cosmetics include a huge range of everyday products like toothpaste, body wash and shaving foam.
