The American public is beginning to see through the pernicious lies being disseminated by the Black Lives Matter movement, according to author and political commentator Shemeka Michelle.

The Black Lives Matter movement, which was founded in July 2013, has recently gained prominence around the world in the wake of the death of a black man who died while in police custody.

However, it has been criticised by conservatives as being an anti-capitalist and anti-nuclear family movement.

Ms Michelle told Sky News the public is increasingly turning against the organisation.

"I do think people are really waking up and noticing the lies," she said.

"I just think if black lives matter, black lives in the womb should matter too.

"Black lives should matter when we kill each other, all black lives should matter.

"That is what my issue is with Black Lives Matter organisation, they are not telling the truth about what their intentions are."
