"They were made to do their job today," Ahmaud Arbery's mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones said Tuesday of the Department of Justice following the hate crimes convictions of her son's killers. "It wasn't because of what they wanted to do. They were made to do their jobs."
Prosecutors originally asked the judge to take the killers' plea deal on the hate crimes charges, but the family begged the court to not accept it. The court eventually declined the plea deal.
