Advice for newly diagnosed ovarian cancer patients

Betty White had been experiencing continual fatigue and lower abdominal pain before she received her stage 1 small cell and high-grade serous ovarian cancer diagnosis in 1997. Thanks to the ovarian cancer treatment she received at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, she has been cancer-free for almost 16 years.

Today, White seeks to help new ovarian cancer patients in her role as a volunteer advocate at MD Anderson. She provides advice on what to expect during their ovarian cancer treatment and offers new patients and their families the most important thing of all -- hope.
