Today's video will be rapid-fire, and is not intended to say cloud computing is bad, but is intended to highlight risks and problems that have happened in cloud computing environments. It's important to note that all of these issues have happened, even with large cloud providers.

First we'll talk about technical risks:
1. Distribute Denial of Service Attack vulnerabilities

1. Economic Denial of Service (where the easy scaling creates a big bill that you can't pay and gets you locked out; or a SaaS company you utilize grows too quickly and is using AWS or another cloud provider and they can't pay their bill, still effectively locking you out)
2. Cloud resources are exhausted/limited
3. Failure to isolate data from separate tenants
4. Malicious insider at the cloud provider
5. Data gets intercepted in transit
6. Data leaks once it's in the cloud
7. Loss of encryption keys
8. Compromises through the management interface
9. Insecure or incomplete data deletion

Next are organizational risks:
1. Difficulty/impossibility to switch vendors
2. Compliance challenges
3. The cloud provider fails or terminates its business
4. The cloud provider is acquired
5. Failure somewhere in the supply chain

Legal risks include:
1. Subpoenas on a co-tenant leading authorities to take hardware that includes your data
2. Changes of legal jurisdictions

Other risks include:
1. Network outages
2. Network mismanagement
3. Social engineering attacks
4. Loss or compromised operational logs
5. Loss or theft of equipment
6. Loss or theft of data
7. Unauthorized access to premises
8. Natural disasters

Again, this isn't to say that the cloud is bad or that I'm against the cloud. But, it's not nearly as clean and worry-free as you might assume. Having good backups, even of cloud data, is never a bad idea and helps curb the risk on lots of these potential issues.

But, that's all I've got for you today. Let me know if you have any questions.
