A sleeping baby tosses and turns. A sensor embedded inside a doll lying next to the baby detects the baby's movements. A signal is then immediately sent to a smart band the mother is wearing on her wrist. The mother can check her child's condition on a real time basis. This allows her to freely go about doing her chores.
[Soundbite] Joo Sang-hee(Contestant, Sookmyung Women's University) : "What mothers go through will be our problem in the near future.I wanted to think of a connecting link of sorts to address mothers' issues."
An electronic instrument attached to a person's waist perceives his body movement and voice, and automatically composes a musical piece. This device automatically measures the angle of a person's slanted body to correct body posture. There's even a smart glass, incorporating what's called barrier free technology. Wearing the glass, the user can get to view subtitles of movie dialogue or commentary on a song.
[Soundbite] Jo Yeong-woo(Contestant, Chungnam Nat'l University) : "An app is activated when watching a movie. The server retrieves subtitles which are shown on the glasses."
The competition, which is in its 12th year, featured the brilliant ideas of 108 competing teams from nationwide universities.
