More survivors were rescued from beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings in Turkey and Syria following Monday's magnitude 7.8 earthquake and a series of aftershocks.

The death toll is said to have risen to 20,700 as of Thursday, making it one of the world's deadliest earthquakes in more than a decade.

Now the struggle is to survive the aftermath, as those whose homes have been destroyed are left stranded in the plummeting temperatures.
