Myeloma is a cancer arising from plasma cells that are normally found in the bone marrow. The build-up of cancerous plasma cells, or myeloma cells, within the bone marrow can affect its ability to function properly. This animation describes how normal bone marrow makes red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, and what happens when myeloma cells are present.
