In this video, Jared and I talk about those hard conversations you will likely face at some point. Whether you are questioned by family about why you left, or feel the need to divulge less pleasant truths about the church. We discuss different methods to keep conversation from breaking out into verbal warfare. You don't want to hide issues from your family, especially if they are questioning, though you also don't want to risk tearing a rift into your relationships. When conversation is taken well it can lead to growth and better and connection on both ends. Try to keep your own objections fair and take it at a slow pace to keep the conversation smooth.

It's important to remember that some of these beliefs that people hold are very important to them. From their perspective it can feel that you are attacking them when you were merely disproving a belief. Be ready to break off conversations if it's obvious you won't get anywhere. Try your best to keep your own emotions out of the way and have people whom you can release those emotions out on. Close friends or family that are out of the religion can be good ways to relieve that transitional stress.
