While affairs and betrayal is a very painful -- if not devastating -- experience, figuring out factors that contributed to the infidelity may go a long way in determining what step to take next. You are best served in this regard if you can determine what was the problem, and what were the subsequent symptoms. Frequently, infidelity is a symptom of a greater unresolved problem.
