Powerful Moments from the Black Lives Matter Movement

Photographer Henry Jay Kamara talks about the Black Lives Matter movement and shows us images he took whilst at an anti-fascist protest opposing the activities of the far-right figurehead Tommy Robinson.

On the 7th of June 2020, anti-fascist activists clashed with far-right protesters in what has since been dubbed ‘The Battle of Trafalgar’. The opposing factions met during a counter-protest against far-right figurehead Tommy Robinson.

After the death of George Floyd shook America, the Black Lives Matter movement has resonated with people in the UK who recognise that the police, judicial and prison systems are unfairly biased against black people. Henry reflects on his own experiences with racial profiling from London’s Metropolitan Police and talks us through how photos can help spread the message of the protest.
