Dr. John Hodgkin, Medical Director of the Smoke-Free Life Program at the St. Helena Center for Health, in St. Helena, CA, shares results of a study appearing in the September 2013 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, which presented a 57% success rate at 12 months for their residential tobacco cessation treatment program, a 52% success rate at a similar Mayo Clinic treatment program, and suggested strategies that could be transferred and generalized for use in other out-patient treatment programs.
