Multiple myeloma patient chose MD Anderson for stem cell transplant

Multiple myeloma patient Don Kendall underwent two stem cell transplants within 12 months as part of a clinical trial at the MD Anderson Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Center.

Don, 64, was able to complete virtually all his treatment as an outpatient and almost two years later is managing his cancer much like a chronic condition such as diabetes.

Don chose treatment at the MD Anderson Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Center after researching hospitals and institutions across the country. He concluded MD Anderson gave him the best chance. After a first stem cell transplant, Don enrolled in a clinical trial that required a second stem cell transplant.
