Maui wildfire evacuation caught on dashcam
Point of view from vehicle trying to evacuate Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii during wildfire. Crews are searching through the devastation on the Hawaiian island of Maui after a wildfire has obliterated neighborhoods and charred landmarks beyond recognition.
The historic town of Lahaina is ground zero. Boats in the harbor were scorched - a sign that maybe not everyone who tried to flee the flames by rushing into the water escaped the wildfire.
As of Thursday, 36 people were dead with the death toll expected to climb. An untold number of people are missing as search and rescue efforts are underway.
