In Mali 1 in 5 children dies before reaching the age of 5, mostly due to preventable and treatable diseases. The Initiative Accès, supported by the Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development, aims to strengthen patients and healthcare providers through interventions on both the supply and the demand side. The ultimate goal is to improve maternal and child health and contribute to the UN Millennium Development Goals.
