The fight against all forms of discrimination is one of the priorities of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU (PPEU), which has committed itself to promoting human rights and guaranteeing equal opportunities and the European values of greater equality and social inclusion in all respects.
This event forms part of the Programme of the Presidency Trio and the Portuguese Presidency, as well as part of a series of initiatives on the promotion of European democratic values, including the celebration of the “10th Anniversary of the Istanbul Convention. The state of play”, the “Informal Dialogue on Integration”, both in April, and the High-Level Conference on the Rule of Law, in May.
