Adjuvant chemotherapy in stage III Colon Cancer is standard of care. The combination of oxaliplatin and 5-FU provides a survival benefit over fluorouracil alone. However some patients will develop neurological toxicity, which may be severe affecting their quality of life. Recent evidence suggests that patients with low risk factors can be treated differently reducing the risk of side-effects.
In this educational video of the 'How To' series, Andrés Cervantes explains how to treat a stage III colon cancer with adjuvant chemotherapy.
